Demystifying Shame

Clarity and Truth Heal: Discover the three faces of shame, go deeper in your recovery journey and reclaim your freedom.

Why 'Demystifying Shame' Exists — and What Awaits You

For many of us on the healing path, shame is the burden we’re quietly told to manage alone. “Shame attacks” can feel confusing, painful, and disruptive to our serenity and joy. After ten years supporting clients, and walking beside my recovery sisters and brothers, I no longer accept that verdict, and I don’t want you to either.

Course at a Glance
Demystifying Shame is a five-week, Master Healer-led course that gently reveals shame’s hidden mechanics, so that real freedom becomes possible, not just theoretical.

Format
- 5 weekly live sessions on Zoom
- Supportive classroom chat
- Guided practices at your own pace

Who It's For
Anyone ready to go deeper, especially people in recovery or long-term inner work, who feel weighed down by persistent or recurring shame. All stages of the journey are welcome.

What You’ll Experience
Over five thoughtfully sequenced classes, the first course in a three-part healing series—you will:

  • Name the Three Faces of Shame: Learn the different types of shame and how they operate. Recognizing these distinctions is the first gateway to release.
  • Release Blame, Self-Judgment, and Outdated Protective Strategies: Understand the many reasons we hold onto shame and begin to replace self-reproach with compassion and clarity.
  • Witness and Be Witnessed in Safety: In classroom conversations, you’ll have the opportunity to share (only if you wish) and learn in a space that honors your pace; we support release, never force it.
  • Leave with a Repeatable Framework: By week five, you’ll be able to identify shame in real time, interrupt old patterns, and chart a  sustainable path for deeper peace.

What Makes This Course Different
• Rooted in 10+ years of spiritual healing experience
• Created specifically for those in recovery and deep inner work community
• Designed for nervous system regulation and emotional safety
• Gentle, non-pathologizing, and trauma-informed
• Small-group structure that invites, but never pressures, sharing
• Live Process Work (Week 5)
     - Optional, guided sessions where volunteers work through a shame issue in real time.
     - Drawn from the spiritual-healing model in which I was trained.
     - Offers an embodied taste of the deeper process work that future courses will expand on.

“I thought, ‘Oh, I’m just gonna have to cope with these little shame attacks I get.’ And now I feel like it’s possible—it’s doable work.”
— Previous student

If you’ve quietly resigned yourself to carrying old shame, know that lasting relief is possible. Together, we’ll replace the tired narrative of “just live with it” with one built on clarity, truth, and genuine hope.

Outcomes and Benefits

What You'll Learn

Shame is often misunderstood—by our culture, by recovery programs, and even by many of us doing deep inner work. This course is here to change that.

In Demystifying Shame, you'll learn how to identify shame clearly, understand its purpose, and begin to shift the way you respond to it—without self-blame or force. It’s not about “fixing” yourself. It’s about finally understanding what’s happening inside, so you can move forward with clarity, compassion, and real hope.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Begin identifying the subtle and overt ways shame shows up for you—emotionally, physically, and in your thought patterns.
  • Distinguish between different types of shame (healthy, toxic, and carried), so you stop internalizing the wrong truths.
  • Understand why shame persists, even after years of healing or recovery, and how to soften its grip.
  • Recognize the unconscious strategies you’ve used to protect yourself from shame, and begin gently replacing them with new, more compassionate responses
  • Begin to develop a simple, repeatable framework to respond to shame when it surfaces—without spiraling or shutting down

Emotional outcomes you can expect:

  • A sense of clarity where there was once confusion, fog or even resignation
  • Relief from the belief that shame is "just something you have to live with."
  • Increased trust in your own healing process.
  • A grounded feeling of hope - because you'll finally understand what's going on underneath.

Is this course all you need?

Yes and no.

This course stands fully on its own. If you’re here for insight, healing, and clarity around shame, Demystifying Shame gives you tools and the understanding you need to feel real change. If you choose to continue on, you’ll have the foundational information you need to allow for deeper, more practical integration work that happens in the second and third courses.

There’s no pressure to continue, only an open door, if you feel so called.

Even if you’ve already done years of therapy or personal growth, this course offers something different: its spiritual-based perspective allows a way to truly understand shame for what it is and for what it isn’t. That understanding opens the door to healing that’s not just possible, but sustainable.

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

What others are saying about us

What students have shared about their experience after taking Demystifying Shame:

"Insert hook to make them read the full testimonial"

I'm so very grateful for the class and the opportunity to work through a major shame loop. When I saw how complicated it was I felt better, and then when we found the linchpin I felt safe enough to express my relief and pressure release.

- Previous Student

"Insert hook to make them read the full testimonial"

I can see all the pieces now...you've given me so much hope that maybe I don't have to keep this in a box anymore. That maybe I can work through all these little pieces and get through it and heal it...I don't think I quite grasped in my mind that it was possible.

- Previous Student

"Insert hook to make them read the full testimonial"

Things I learned that I didn't know before is that shame is something that can be healthy, because my ideas of shame were based on 'shame is bad.' That's not necessarily true. And also that shame is a feeling with a start, middle and end. That concept is brand new to me and not something I've seen anywhere before.

STILL GOT QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

 Who is this class for?

This course is designed for people in addiction recovery or healing from childhood trauma. This course is open to anyone carrying long-standing shame who is ready to understand, process, and release it.

It’s best suited for those who have already done some personal growth work, (whether through therapy, 12-step program, multi-day intensives, spiritual work, etc.) and who have developed tools to stay grounded. Simply discussing shame can be triggering, thus a foundation of emotional safety and self-awareness is important.

Do I have to attend the sessions live?

Live attendance is strongly encouraged as the course is intentionally paced to give you time to absorb and integrate each step of the process. The mindset shifts we explore are significant and benefit from space, reflection, and community support.

Being present in real time allows for interaction, questions, and clarification—which deepens the absorption of material. It also helps with accountability and momentum.

That said, all sessions are recorded and available for review. If you need to miss one or two due to travel or unexpected conflicts, you’ll still be able to stay on track.

Who can view the class recordings?

Recordings are hosted on a private platform and are only accessible to members of your specific cohort. Each incoming class has its own secure classroom space—just as past or future students won’t have access to your sessions, you won’t have access to theirs.

Recordings are never shared publicly in full. Brief, anonymized clips may be used for marketing purposes (I haven't decided yet), but if this happens, these clips will never include anything personal or identifying from students.

How long will you be offering this course live?

The live version of this course is available for a limited time. As interest and demand shift, I plan to transition this into a self-paced, on-demand course. That future version will offer different benefits, but it won’t include live interaction or real-time support.

The opportunity to process personal shame patterns in a live format will eventually only be available through the third Shame course (and possibly second) as long as those continue to be offered and individual healing sessions limited in availability to my students.

What time zone are the live sessions in?

All live sessions are scheduled in Pacific Time (PT). Notifications should be sent out adjusted for your time zone, but be sure to check when planning to attend.

 Do you accept refund requests?

Refunds are available up until the enrollment deadline. If you request a refund by the end of the day of the first class, you may be eligible for a partial refund.

Because this course is intentionally kept small, each spot is valuable. Last-minute withdrawals may prevent someone else who’s ready and committed from participating. If you’re unsure or have questions about whether this course is right for you, I encourage you to reach out before enrolling.
